Music & Audio

Verdicts at a glance

• Spotify: Music and Podcasts 8.2/10 Still the best music discovery and streaming experience available, but worth comparing against cheaper alternatives if you mostly play background music and skip the social features.
• Shazam: Find Music & Concerts 9.0/10 The gold standard for music identification and one of the most reliably useful apps on Android — genuinely earns its near-perfect rating.
• SoundCloud: The Music You Love 7.0/10 Irreplaceable for independent music discovery, but a weaker everyday listening experience than the major paid services.
• Magic Tiles 3™ - Piano Game 6.8/10 A rhythm game that nails the casual loop but wraps it in enough advertising friction to frustrate dedicated players.
• Tiles Hop Music & Ball Game 6.2/10 A light, pleasant rhythm game for short bursts that runs out of depth faster than its massive install count suggests.
• Apple Music 7.5/10 A genuinely good music streaming app on Android with standout curation, held back slightly by an interface that never fully adapted to the platform.
• Spotify Kids 4.2/10 A decent parental companion to Spotify that is gated behind a Premium Family subscription it should not require, with catalog and stability gaps that explain a rating this low for a Spotify product.
